Reggae, dub, dancehall and tropical bass festival at Parc de la Navale in La Seyne-sur-Mer
Since 2008, the Couleurs Urbaines Festival has been the unmissable reggae and dancehall event in the South-East of France. Every end of June, the Parc de la Navale in La Seyne-sur-Mer, facing the Toulon roadstead, hosts three evenings of reggae, dub, hip-hop, and tropical bass. Alborosie, Taïro, Danakil, Clinton Fearon: a top-tier lineup for over 3,000 spectators per night.
Founded in 2008 by the association Culture Plus, the Couleurs Urbaines Festival has become, in less than two decades, the benchmark for reggae and urban culture in the South-East of France. Its formula—three open-air evenings, an international lineup, a strong community spirit—has earned it a reputation far beyond the Var region and the PACA region.
Located at the Parc de la Navale in La Seyne-sur-Mer, a former working-class town facing the sea, the festival benefits from an exceptional setting: the park, which runs along the shores of the Toulon roadstead, offers a panorama of the sea and hills, and this opening onto the horizon is particularly striking during summer evenings. The Toulon roadstead, one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, serves as a natural backdrop for concerts whose intensity is in no way inferior to the biggest festivals of its kind.
Couleurs Urbaines is first and foremost a festival of reggae—roots, lover's rock, nyahbinghi—but also of dub, dancehall, hip-hop, and tropical bass. This plurality of reggae culture sub-genres reflects the richness of a musical movement born in Jamaica in the 1960s that has continued to branch out, evolve, and influence music worldwide.
The programming favors top artists from the international scene: living reggae legends like Alborosie (the Jamaicanized Sicilian, master of roots reggae) or Clinton Fearon (formerly of The Gladiators, a guiding figure of classic reggae), and artists from the French scene like Taïro or Danakil, who proudly represent French reggae.
The 2025 edition, the 17th of its name, featured a high-quality lineup including:
Beyond the concerts, Couleurs Urbaines cultivates a spirit of popular and inclusive celebration. The festival hosts an artisanal village, restaurateurs offering world cuisines, and fosters an atmosphere of Caribbean carnival and Jamaican festivity that the public happily rediscovers year after year.
The festival also stands out for its commitment to festival-goer safety, notably through the Safer initiative: a dedicated zone for prevention and combating sexist and sexual violence, with trained staff, a mobile assistance app, and a secure space. This progressive approach demonstrates the festival's commitment to being a respectful and inclusive party space.
La Seyne-sur-Mer is one of the most popular and lively cities in the Toulon metropolitan area. A former shipyard town, redeveloped since their closure in 1989, it cultivates a strong working-class and Mediterranean identity, which perfectly matches the festival's spirit. The Parc de la Navale, developed on the industrial wastelands of the former shipyards, has become one of the most important cultural and leisure spaces in the city.
For its 18th edition on June 5, 6, and 7, 2026, Couleurs Urbaines confirms its roots in reggae-dancehall culture with a lineup combining established artists and emerging talents. Danakil, a quintessential French roots reggae band, Clinton Fearon & The Riddim Source, a Jamaican legend, and a multitude of DJs and bands from the French tropical bass and dancehall scene make up a program true to the festival's DNA.
The 18th edition of the Couleurs Urbaines Festival will take place from June 5 to 7, 2026, at Parc de la Navale. Danakil, Clinton Fearon & The Riddim Source, Bleu Soleil, Ronisia, and many DJ artists from the dancehall and tropical bass scene are programmed for this edition celebrating 18 years of reggae, dub, and urban culture in La Seyne-sur-Mer.
The Couleurs Urbaines Festival celebrates its 18th anniversary with an edition full of emotions and discoveries. From Friday, June 5 to Sunday, June 7, Parc de la Navale in La Seyne-sur-Mer will host a lineup combining reggae legends and current artists from the dancehall and afro-tropical scene.
Sunday is dedicated to a DJ night with ambassadors of the tropical bass, dub, and dancehall scene: DJ LV, DJ M'JIE, DJ Mike Sign, DJ Mixterio, DJ Shaylan, DJ T'Fiish, Kybba, La Mescla, Maureen.
“18 years of pure joy, music, laughter”: this is how the association Culture Plus summarizes the Couleurs Urbaines adventure. This 18th edition will be an opportunity to celebrate this remarkable longevity and reaffirm the festival's central place in the cultural landscape of the Var region and the Mediterranean.
