Multidisciplinary festival mixing music, street arts and visual arts in Briançon
The Arty Colors Festival is a popular and festive cultural event held every summer in Briançon, the highest city in France, at the foot of the Col du Lautaret. Created in 2023 as part of the "Briançon sous les Étoiles" festivities, this multidisciplinary festival defines itself as a lively, polychrome sound fresco at the crossroads of music, street theater, visual arts, photography, land art and scenography. Co-organized by the Ville de Briançon, the Office de Tourisme Serre Chevalier Vallée Briançon, the production companies Afozic and Loun'Art, and the local association Bruit Blanc, it has quickly established itself as a must-attend summer event in Briançon.
The Arty Colors Festival's musical programming is resolutely eclectic, mixing electro-pop, funk, reggae, world music, folk, and alternative rock. Concerts mainly take place at the Parc de la Schappe, a historic silk factory site, offering an exceptional open-air setting with mountain views. The musical evenings feature artists renowned for their stage energy — Deluxe, FFF, Danakil — alongside emerging talents like Julien Granel, Malaka, or Emel. In parallel, free street performances punctuate the days in the streets of Briançon, the Parc Chanoine Motte, and the Jardin des Artaillauds: burlesque performances, clowns, contemporary dance, fire shows, and artistic parades.
One of the signatures of the Arty Colors Festival is its annual color code. Each edition adopts a thematic color, and festival-goers are invited to dress in that hue, creating a unique and participatory visual atmosphere. This approach reinforces the joyful and unifying nature of the festival, where the public becomes an actor in the event.
The festival takes over several remarkable sites in the city. The Parc de la Schappe hosts the main music stages and food trucks. The ramparts of the Cité Vauban, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the streets of the historic center serve as a backdrop for street performances and visual artist interventions. The Parc Chanoine Motte, the Jardin des Artaillauds, and the Salle du Vieux Colombier complete this artistic journey through the city, blending architectural heritage and contemporary creation.
Since its first edition in 2023, which focused on a single day at the Parc de la Schappe with two stages, the festival has continuously grown. The 2024 edition expanded to three days and took over the entire city. The 2025 edition, the third of its kind, confirmed this format with three days of concerts and performances, consolidating the Arty Colors Festival's place in the summer festival scene of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
The Arty Colors Festival returns for a fourth edition from August 5 to 7, 2026 in Briançon. The festival continues its development with three days of concerts, street performances, and artistic interventions in the emblematic locations of the city: the Parc de la Schappe, the ramparts of the Cité Vauban, the Parc Chanoine Motte, and the streets of the historic center.
The full lineup has not yet been revealed. A launch event was held on January 21, 2026, at Plateau de Pralong with a DJ set featuring 12 DJs celebrating diversity in dance, with the participation of Matteo, a member of Chinese Man.
The festival takes place in Briançon (05100), in various locations throughout the city: Parc de la Schappe, Parc Chanoine Motte, Jardin des Artaillauds, ramparts of the Cité Vauban, streets of the city center.
