About Crashmusette

Crashmusette is a contemporary music festival created in 2014 in La Voulte-sur-Rhône, Ardèche. Born from a shared passion among friends, its name combines "crash" (fervor and saturation) and "musette" (French chanson), summarizing the festival's spirit: a bold program mixing rock, punk, fusion, and French chanson. Every May, the Printemps du Crashmusette takes over Parc Baboin for two days of intense and friendly concerts.

Crash + Musette = a unique Ardèche festival

Crashmusette was born in 2014 in La Voulte-sur-Rhône, Ardèche, from a shared passion for live music among friends. The festival's name is a manifesto in itself: "crash" for fervor, energy, and saturation, "musette" for French chanson and its popular melodies. This unlikely mix perfectly sums up the festival's spirit: musical audacity, friendliness, and local roots.

Rock, punk, fusion, and chanson

Crashmusette's programming stands out for its acknowledged eclecticism and its taste for intense music. Rock, punk, fusion, French chanson, post-punk, rockabilly share the festival stage. The 2022 edition notably hosted major bands from the French rock scene like Les Sheriff and Burning Heads. The festival champions a demanding program that mixes nationally renowned artists and local Ardèche bands.

Le Printemps du Crashmusette

For several years, the festival has been presented under the name "Printemps du Crashmusette". The 2025 edition, Printemps du Crashmusette #4, was held on May 23rd and 24th at Parc Baboin in La Voulte-sur-Rhône. Two days of open-air concerts in a green setting, with a friendly atmosphere and a cutting-edge program.

Parc Baboin, a green setting

Concerts take place at Parc Baboin, a green space in La Voulte-sur-Rhône bordering the Rhône river. This pleasant, tree-lined setting offers a striking contrast to the raw energy of the programmed music. The park welcomes festival-goers in a relaxed atmosphere, with on-site refreshments and food. The intentionally limited capacity helps maintain the intimate and warm atmosphere that is the charm of Crashmusette.

An associative and militant festival

Crashmusette is driven by an association of the same name, founded in 2003 to support the first stage performances of the band Le Baratin de la Joie. The association gradually shifted towards organizing concerts and festivals, with the aim of promoting local and national artists. The festival has become an anticipated event on the Ardèche music scene, attracting nationally and internationally renowned bands.

Crashmusette — edition 2026

Printemps du Crashmusette #5 is expected at the end of May 2026 at Parc Baboin in La Voulte-sur-Rhône, with two days of open-air rock, punk, and French chanson.
