Vivarais Cinema Festival, auteur cinema in southern Ardèche

The Vivarais Cinema Festival is an autumn film event rooted in the south of Ardèche. Organized by the association Éclats des Toiles and entirely run by volunteers, this festival offers a quality program each year highlighting auteur cinema and new works of the seventh art.

Premiere screenings from the Cannes Film Festival

The core of the program is based on a selection of 8 feature films in preview screenings, from the Cannes Film Festival and presented in the presence of film professionals: directors, actors, producers. These pre-release screenings allow audiences in Ardèche to discover in advance the films that will mark the cinematic season.

Short films and exhibitions

In addition to feature films, the festival offers award-winning short films, whether animated or live-action, providing a showcase for young film talents. Exhibitions complete the program, enriching the festival-goers' experience and extending the reflection beyond the screenings.

Three venues, one festival

The Vivarais Cinema Festival unfolds in three locations in southern Ardèche: the Cinéma Le Rouret in Grospierres, the Salle Doulovy in Saint-Paul-le-Jeune, and the Salle de la Grand Font in Joyeuse. This multi-site setup allows it to reach a wide audience and bring cinema to life in rural communities in southern Ardèche.

A volunteer and committed festival

Financed mainly by the support of the Ardèche Departmental Council, participating municipalities, and short film submission fees, the Vivarais Cinema Festival is a model of volunteer commitment to cinematic culture. The 7th edition is scheduled from September 28 to October 5, 2025.
