The great gastronomic and popular festival of Aire-sur-la-Lys since 1962
The Festival de l'Andouille is a traditional festival organized every year on the first Sunday of September in Aire-sur-la-Lys. Since 1962, this popular event celebrates the andouille, the town's charcuterie specialty, through tastings at the Halle au Beurre, a parade through the streets, foot races, and a free variety show on the Grand'Place. The highlight of the day is the throwing of andouilles from the Bailliage's machicolation by the mayor and his guests, followed by fireworks.
