The agricultural meeting point for an entire region
Created in 2006 by the Chambre d'agriculture d'Indre-et-Loire and the Association Agriculture et Gastronomie, Ferme Expo Tours has become in less than twenty years the largest agricultural fair in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Every year in November, the Parc des Expositions de Tours transforms into a giant farm where cattle, sheep, goats, horses, poultry, and barnyard animals mingle, offering visitors a total immersion into the world of livestock and agriculture.
A fair structured around two main poles
The event is organized around two complementary poles that showcase all sectors, from agricultural production to food:
- The Agriculture pole: animal competitions (cattle, sheep, goats), auctions, regional breed presentations, business and agricultural partner village, job-dating for agricultural professions, conferences, and award ceremonies.
- The Gastronomy pole: culinary competitions, local product tastings, cooking workshops, local producer market, and on-site dining highlighting Touraine and Centre-Val de Loire specialties.
A family-friendly and educational event
Ferme Expo stands out for its educational and family-friendly dimension. The fair welcomes numerous school groups each year who come to meet farmers and breeders. Children can get close to the animals, watch breed competitions, and learn about agricultural professions. Specific activities are offered for young audiences, with fun workshops and discovery trails adapted for all ages.
Over 35,000 visitors each year
A true communication forum between agriculture and society, Ferme Expo Tours broke its attendance record in 2023 with 44,000 visitors during its 17th edition. The fair is supported by local authorities, agricultural institutions, and regional partners, confirming its essential role in promoting agriculture and gastronomy in Centre-Val de Loire. It is a unique opportunity for citizens, consumers, and future farmers to meet professionals from the rural world.
