Animations, chalets, and Christmas magic in the Audomarois region
Saint-Omer, a city of art and history in Pas-de-Calais, celebrates Christmas in an exceptional heritage setting. From late November to late December, the Place du Maréchal Foch and Place Victor Hugo are adorned with lights and host the Christmas Market, creating a warm and magical atmosphere in the heart of the historic city.
The Christmas Market chalets offer a selection of artisanal and gourmet products: Christmas decorations, jewelry, toys, textiles, candles, jams, and regional specialties. Saint-Omer merchants actively participate in the festivities, with decorated shop windows and special holiday offers.
The kick-off of the festivities takes place during a festive ceremony on Place Victor Hugo: in the presence of Santa Claus, mascots, musicians, and artistic parades, the grand Christmas tree is lit, officially marking the start of the holiday season in Saint-Omer.
The Saint-Omer Christmas Market is accompanied by numerous activities throughout the period:
Saint-Omer offers a historic backdrop for its Christmas festivities. The Notre-Dame Cathedral, the ruins of Saint-Bertin Abbey, 18th-century private mansions, and the public garden create a majestic canvas for the illuminations and the market. The pedestrian streets of the city center invite leisurely strolls in an authentic and family-friendly Christmas atmosphere.

Children's carousels, mascot and costumed character parades, musical entertainment and street shows, meetings with Santa Claus, and creative workshops for children punctuate the holiday season.
