Strawberry Festival: The Taste of Sologne in Cour-Cheverny

For several years, the Strawberry Festival in Cour-Cheverny has established itself as a gourmet and festive event celebrating one of the agricultural treasures of Sologne. The region is indeed the second largest strawberry-producing area in France, and local producers passionately cultivate flavorful varieties that are the pride of the terroir.

A Producer Market Dedicated to Strawberries

The heart of the festival is its producer market, located on the esplanade of the Cour-Cheverny village hall. Strawberry producers from Sologne and the surrounding areas present their harvests: Gariguettes, Ciflorettes, Charlottes, Mara des Bois, and other local varieties. Visitors can taste the strawberries, buy them in punnets, and learn about the specificities of each variety from the producers themselves.

Strawberry Pie Contest and Gourmet Entertainment

The strawberry pie contest is one of the most anticipated highlights of the day. Open to professionals (pastry chefs, bakers) as well as amateurs (individuals, families), it rewards the best creations in a good-natured and competitive spirit. Sales of strawberry pies, artisanal jams, and other strawberry-based delicacies complete the gourmet offerings.

A Popular and Family-Friendly Festival

Supported by the Cour-Cheverny Festival Committee, the Strawberry Festival is a popular and accessible event, designed to bring together the village residents and visitors to the Cheverny region. Musical entertainment, children's games, and a refreshment stand contribute to the festive and relaxed atmosphere.

In the Heart of the Cheverny Region

Cour-Cheverny, a neighboring commune to the famous Château de Cheverny, benefits from an attractive living environment between AOC Cheverny vineyards and Sologne forests. The Strawberry Festival is part of a dynamic of promoting local products and the local gastronomic heritage, complementing the nearby wine appellations.
