A music festival in the heart of rural Cotentin

Since its creation in 2013, the Réveillez les Chouettes festival has enlivened the small village of Sauxemesnil, nestled in the Cotentin countryside, about twenty kilometers from Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. This open-air music festival was born from the desire of a group of enthusiasts to offer a high-quality concert evening in a rural and accessible setting.

An eclectic and festive program

The Réveillez les Chouettes festival stands out for its varied program that mixes pop, rock, folk, French chanson, and contemporary music. Each edition features several bands and artists on one or two open-air stages, offering the public a rich and diverse musical panorama. The festival prioritizes the discovery of emerging talents while also inviting established artists from the French scene.

A family-friendly and friendly atmosphere

One of Réveillez les Chouettes' major assets is its warm and relaxed atmosphere. The festival takes place outdoors in a green setting and welcomes all generations. Families find a safe and pleasant space to enjoy the music, while the more festive can dance until dawn under the Cotentin stars.

An exemplary volunteer commitment

Réveillez les Chouettes is entirely run by about a hundred volunteers who handle organization, logistics, catering, and public reception. This collective commitment is the driving force of the festival and testifies to the vitality of local associations. Nothing would be possible without these motivated and passionate volunteers.

A break to bounce back better

After several successful editions, the festival faced logistical challenges, the repercussions of Covid, and increasingly heavy budget constraints for a small structure. The organizers decided to put the festival on hiatus, hoping to relaunch it under better conditions in the future. Despite this pause, the spirit of Réveillez les Chouettes continues to live on through the community of volunteers and loyal festival-goers.
