Eclectic contemporary music festival in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin
Largo Festival is an eclectic musical event born in 2023 in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. Organized by the association Largo Festival & Booking in partnership with Le Circuit and L'Autre Lieu, this festival celebrates musical diversity with a program mixing rock, metal, rap, electro, and punk. Its name, inspired by the Italian word 'largo' meaning 'width,' is also a musical term symbolizing openness and eclecticism. Located at L'Autre Lieu, a cultural space in the Abbaye district, it asserts itself as a meeting point for the emerging scene in Cotentin.
Since its creation in 2023, Largo Festival has established itself as a major event for contemporary music in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. Born from the passion of a group of music enthusiasts, this festival bears a name inspired by the Italian word – 'largo' meaning 'width' – and musical vocabulary, affirming its desire to mix genres and celebrate sonic diversity.
Largo Festival takes place at L'Autre Lieu, a cultural space located within the Espace René Le Bas, in the historic Abbaye district of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. This venue, dedicated to creation, performance, and artistic residencies, offers an intimate and warm atmosphere perfectly suited to the festival's spirit. In partnership with Le Circuit, a contemporary music organization in Cotentin, Largo Festival benefits from a solid professional network for its programming and organization.
The strength of Largo Festival lies in its ability to host very different aesthetics on the same stage: independent rock, metal, rap, electronic music, punk, experimental pop. Each edition highlights both established artists and emerging talents from the regional and national scene, offering the public a rich and surprising musical experience.
Led by the association Largo Festival & Booking, the festival is part of a collaborative and participatory approach. The event mobilizes numerous volunteers and relies on a network of local cultural partners. Despite the financial challenges inherent to independent festivals, the organizing team continues its mission with determination, regularly launching calls for support to ensure the event's sustainability.
Scheduled annually in September, Largo Festival beautifully concludes the summer music season, offering Cherbourg residents and visitors a moment of sharing and musical discovery in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The 4th edition of Largo Festival is expected for September 2026 in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. After a call for donations launched at the end of 2025 to ensure the festival's sustainability, the organizing team is working on preparing this new edition.
After three successful editions, Largo Festival hopes to return in September 2026 to continue its mission of promoting musical diversity in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. The lineup will be announced later.
