Birth of a Metal Festival in Normandy

The Apocalypse Metal Fest was born in 2022 at Le Tetris, a contemporary music venue in Le Havre known for its support of emerging artists and alternative genres. Driven by the France Metal association, the festival's mission is to make metal resonate in all its forms within the Norman cultural landscape, in a port city that has always cultivated an underground and rebellious spirit.

In just a few editions, Apocalypse Metal Fest has grown from a local initiative to an essential gathering for the metal scene in Normandy, attracting national and international headliners and a passionate audience from across the region and beyond.

A Lineup Between Legends and Discoveries

The strength of Apocalypse Metal Fest lies in its lineup, which combines international headliners with emerging bands from the French and Norman scene:

• Inaugural Edition (2022): Loudblast, Akiavel, Fatal, Nobody's Straight, Carbonic Fields — a first edition that immediately laid the festival's foundations on the Norman metal scene
• 2nd Edition (2023): Benighted, Rise of the Northstar, Locomuerte, No Return — a program focused on brutal death and metalcore that confirmed the festival's ambition
• 3rd Edition (2024): Crisix (Spain), ten56., Kronos, Seth, Locomuerte — international opening and launch of the Apocalypse Market
• 4th Edition (2025): Napalm Death (United Kingdom), Septicflesh (Greece), Primal Age — a landmark edition with international legends of extreme metal

Le Tremplin Apocalypse

The festival is not limited to its main evening. Le Tremplin Apocalypse, organized in September, offers regional and national rounds to discover the best emerging bands from the French metal scene. Winners, such as Evolution Zero and Necroscum, gain the opportunity to perform at Apocalypse Metal Fest, offering valuable visibility to young bands.

L'Apocalypse Market

Since 2024, L'Apocalypse Market complements the festival experience. This free-access market, held at the Halle du Fort de Tourneville, offers vinyl records, CDs, merchandise, clothing, accessories, and collectibles related to the world of metal. An essential event for collectors and enthusiasts.

Le Tetris: A Venue for Metal

Le Tetris, a contemporary music venue located at the Fort de Tourneville in Le Havre, is the ideal setting for Apocalypse Metal Fest. This venue, recognized by the Ministry of Culture, offers quality acoustics, an intimate capacity that fosters proximity between artists and the audience, and an annual program resolutely focused on contemporary and alternative music.
