The magic of Christmas in the heart of Louviers
Every year, from the end of November, Louviers adorns itself in its finest attire to welcome the Féeries de Noël. The city, rich in its medieval heritage and its banks of the Eure river, offers an exceptional setting to celebrate the magic of the holiday season. The illuminations transform the streets, squares, and facades into a light show that amazes young and old alike as night falls.
The heart of the Féeries de Noël is the Christmas market set up on the Place de la Halle. This true artisans' village offers unique creations: decorative objects, handmade jewelry, wooden toys, scented candles, textiles, and ceramics. Delicacies are also abundant with hot chocolate, mulled wine, crepes, waffles, and Norman specialties. Visitors can stroll among the decorated chalets, discover original gift ideas, and savor the warm and fragrant atmosphere of the market.
The centerpiece of the festivities, the Ferris wheel installed on Place Thorel, offers a spectacular panorama of the illuminated city. Operating from late November to mid-January, it allows visitors to admire Louviers from above, in a whirlwind of lights. The Christmas little train takes children and families through the decorated streets for an enchanted ride through the heart of Louviers' magic.
A highlight of the Féeries de Noël, the grand magical parade winds through the streets of Louviers with its illuminated floats, costumed characters, dancers, and musicians. This magical procession amazes thousands of spectators gathered along the route. Throughout the period, shows for children, concerts, musical entertainment, and meetings with Santa Claus punctuate the program, creating a permanent festive atmosphere.
The Féeries de Noël also offer creative workshops for children: making Christmas decorations, painting, crafts, and writing letters to Santa Claus. Gourmet activities complete the program, with culinary demonstrations by local chefs. Michelin-starred chef David Gallienne, winner of Top Chef and a local, participated in recent editions to cook for the public and showcase his exceptional cuisine.
The Féeries de Noël de Louviers are more than just a Christmas market: they are a unifying event that brings together residents, shopkeepers, and visitors around the magic of Christmas. Downtown businesses actively participate in the festivities with decorated shop windows and special events. The event contributes to the economic and cultural dynamism of Louviers while strengthening social bonds during the holiday season.
The Féeries de Noël de Louviers will illuminate the city starting November 27, 2026. The program once again promises a magical experience: an artisanal Christmas market on Place de la Halle, a panoramic Ferris wheel, a magical parade through the streets of the city center, a Christmas little train, and numerous shows.
Creative workshops for children, concerts, gourmet activities, and meetings with Santa Claus will complete a rich and varied program. Admission to the market and activities is free.
Louviers is located in the Eure department, 30 km south of Rouen and 100 km from Paris.
