Eco-responsible art and craft festival at the Forges Royales de Guérigny
The Artistic Recycling Festival of Guérigny is an artistic and eco-responsible event that takes place over several weekends at the Forges Royales de Guérigny. Created by Sophie Juramy, the festival brings together about thirty artists and craftspeople who transform natural or recovered materials (wood, metal, textile, paper, plants) into original creations. Activities, debates, music, and screenings accompany the exhibitions. Admission is free and the event is open to all audiences.
The Artistic Recycling Festival in Guérigny is an innovative cultural event that places eco-responsible artistic creation at the heart of its approach. At the Forges Royales de Guérigny, a heritage site steeped in industrial history, about thirty artists and craftspeople demonstrate that recovered materials and natural elements can be transformed into works of art and useful objects.
The exhibiting artists work with a wide variety of materials and techniques:
The festival is not limited to exhibitions. A program of activities and debates enriches each weekend:
The Artistic Recycling Festival is part of the Guérigny Planet Days, a broader environmental awareness program. The theme of water and artistic recycling guides the programming, inviting visitors to rethink their relationship with objects and materials.
The festival takes place in the historic halls of the Forges Royales de Guérigny (François Mitterrand and Olympe de Gouges halls). This 18th-century industrial site, where ore was once transformed into ship anchors, offers a symbolic setting for an event dedicated to material transformation.
