The Athis-Mons Festival: the associations' gathering

Athis-Mons is a commune in Essonne with approximately 32,000 inhabitants, bordering the Seine, known for its exceptionally dense associative life. The town has over a hundred active associations in fields as varied as sport, culture, environment, solidarity, and the arts. The Associations Festival, held every September at the start of the school year, is their annual showcase and one of the most popular festive events in the commune.

The Associations Festival

The Athis-Mons Associations Festival takes place every year in September at Parc d'Avaucourt (avenue Aristide Briand). Over two days, it brings residents together around:

• an associations village with over 100 clubs and associations presenting their activities and offering registrations for the new season;
• free concerts with guest artists and local bands;
• sports initiations and demonstrations led by the town's clubs;
• cultural and creative activities for all ages;
• food stalls;
• shows for children and families.

Admission is free for all activities.

Parc d'Avaucourt

Parc d'Avaucourt, located on avenue Aristide Briand, is one of Athis-Mons' main green spaces. Every September, it hosts the Associations Festival, which takes over its lawns and pathways for the associative village, sports demonstrations, and open-air concerts.

Athis-Mons is crossed by the Orge, which flows into the Seine nearby. The town has a marina on the Seine and interesting natural spaces along its banks. Its historic town center preserves several remarkable buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
