The Fête d'Athis-Mons: The Associations' Meeting Point
Athis-Mons is a town in Essonne with approximately 32,000 inhabitants, located on the Seine, known for its exceptionally dense associative life. The town has over a hundred active associations in fields as varied as sport, culture, environment, solidarity, and the arts. The Fête des Associations, held every September, is their annual showcase and the most popular festive event in the municipality.
The Fête des Associations
The Fête des Associations d'Athis-Mons takes place every year in September on Place Jean-Jaurès, in the heart of the town. Over two days, it brings residents together for:
- An associative village with over 100 clubs and associations presenting their activities and offering registrations
- Free concerts with invited artists and local bands
- Sports initiations led by the town's clubs: football, judo, dance, swimming, tennis
- Creative workshops: painting, drawing, modeling, sewing
- Culinary activities with international food stalls
- Shows for children and families
In 2025, the festival featured a concert by The Voice Kids on the main stage, an exceptional event that attracted many visitors.
Place Jean-Jaurès, Heart of the Town
Place Jean-Jaurès is the lively heart of Athis-Mons. Surrounded by shops, cafes, and public facilities, it is the natural gathering place for Athégiens during municipal events. At Christmas, it hosts a Christmas market with an ice rink and a Santa Claus parade.
Athis-Mons and its Heritage
Athis-Mons is crossed by the Orge river, which flows into the Seine nearby. The town has a marina on the Seine and interesting natural spaces along its banks. Its historic town center preserves several remarkable buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Christmas in Athis-Mons
Outside of the Fête des Associations, Athis-Mons organizes a Christmas market every year from November to January on Place Jean-Jaurès, with an outdoor ice rink, designer and artisan chalets, and a Santa Claus parade for children.

The 2025 Fête des Associations was held on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7, 2025, on Place Jean-Jaurès. It featured an exceptional concert by The Voice Kids and a village of over 100 associations. Free admission for all.

The 2026 Fête des Associations is scheduled for September 2026 on Place Jean-Jaurès, with the usual program of an associative village, concerts, and sports and cultural activities. Free admission.
