Festival of world folk dances and music in Pujols
The Pujols Festival - Couleurs du Monde was born from the passion of Monique and Gilbert Broit, founders of the Couleurs du Monde association. Since its creation in 1999, this folk festival has gathered dance and music troupes from all over the world each summer to celebrate the richness of traditional cultures and intangible heritage. Affiliated with CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Traditional Arts), the festival guarantees the quality and authenticity of the invited groups through a rigorous labeling process.
The festival takes place on the Esplanade du Palay, in the heart of Pujols, a medieval village classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, perched above the Lot valley. This exceptional setting offers a unique backdrop for the open-air shows that take place every evening, from Monday to Saturday, from 7 PM to 11 PM.
Each evening is dedicated to a different country: spectators thus travel from one continent to another, discovering the traditional dances, music, and costumes of nations as varied as Chile, New Zealand, the Sulawesi Islands, South Africa, the USA (Idaho), Mexico, and many more.
The festival offers a double program every evening:
In addition to the shows, the festival enlivens the village with a world market offering crafts and products from around the world, a refreshment stand, and a catering service, allowing the celebration to continue in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.
The Pujols Festival is supported by about sixty dedicated volunteers, including many families who host the musician and dancer artists in their homes. This host family welcome creates moments of sharing and intercultural exchange of rare intensity, far beyond the stage. This human dimension, based on hospitality and generosity, constitutes the very soul of the festival and makes it a unique event in the cultural landscape of the Southwest.
The 28th edition of the Pujols - Couleurs du Monde Festival will take place from Monday, August 3 to Saturday, August 8, 2026 on the Esplanade du Palay, in the heart of the medieval village of Pujols (47). Six consecutive evenings will take the audience on a true world tour of traditional cultures, with international folk troupes certified by CIOFF.
Each evening is dedicated to a country and offers the usual double program: Festival Off from 7 PM to 8:45 PM (variety concerts, entertainment) then the main show from 9 PM to 11 PM (traditional dances and music from the guest group). A special free evening (karaoke / DJ) is offered mid-week.
Ticket office open at Espace Services Leclerc in Villeneuve-sur-Lot from July 13, and on site on show evenings.
As every year, the Couleurs du Monde association is calling for host families to accommodate the artists during the festival, perpetuating the tradition of hospitality that enriches the human aspect of the event.
The festival takes place on the Esplanade du Palay, opposite the Salle du Palay, in Pujols (47300), a hilltop village overlooking Villeneuve-sur-Lot in the Lot valley.
Shows take place every evening from Monday to Saturday, for six consecutive evenings:
A special free evening (karaoke, DJ) is traditionally offered mid-week.
