The meeting place for craft beer lovers
Every first Saturday of September, the town of Guérigny in the Nièvre region hosts the Festibière, a festival dedicated to craft beer and conviviality. Created in 2016 by the Guérigny/Meix-devant-Virton twinning committee, the event has become a must-attend gathering for hop enthusiasts in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
A selection of craft brewers
The Festibière brings together an average of twenty craft brewers from the Nièvre and neighboring departments of Burgundy. Among the breweries regularly present, we find in particular:
- Grand Duc, Brasserie Sancerroise, La Vaugermaine
- Breweries from Yonne, Côte-d'Or, and Cher
- Local micro-breweries and ephemeral creations
Visitors can taste blonde, white, amber, brown, and special beers, each reflecting the know-how and creativity of its brewer.
La Jovi'ale: a collective creation
A unique feature of the festival, La Jovi'ale is a special beer created each year by six brewers from the same imposed recipe. Each brewer interprets the recipe in their own way, offering visitors a unique and fun comparative tasting.
Festive and musical atmosphere
The Festibière is not just about tasting. The town center of Guérigny is completely pedestrianized for the occasion, creating a large outdoor party space. The musical program sets the rhythm for the day and evening with various bands ranging from banda to pop-rock and rock.
Entertainment for everyone
Children's entertainment is also provided: carousels, duck fishing, candy stalls. On-site catering offers fries, sausages, sandwiches, and other specialties to accompany the tastings.
A practical pre-sale system
To facilitate access to tastings, the Festibière offers an online pre-sale system via HelloAsso. Visitors can book their glasses and tokens in advance and collect them on the day at the central checkout. This personalized system allows for faster service and better organization.
10 years of conviviality
After a break in 2020 due to the health crisis, the festival resumed with renewed enthusiasm. A dedicated Festibière Committee was created in 2024 to structure the organization. The 2026 edition marks the 10th anniversary of the festival, a symbolic milestone for this event that has become a pillar of summer entertainment in Guérigny.
