Since 1983, the Périgord Noir Festival has offered a program of excellence in classical, baroque, and jazz music every summer. The concerts take place in exceptional heritage sites: the abbey of Saint-Amand-de-Coly, the cathedral of Sarlat, the Romanesque churches of Auriac, Fanlac, Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, and Sorges, the castle of Jaillac, and the Sarlat Cultural Center.
Each edition hosts major international musicians alongside promising young artists. The festival values musical diversity by blending baroque, classical, romantic repertoire, 20th-century music, traditional music, and jazz. Concert-lectures and artist encounters enrich the experience.
Each edition is centered around an original theme that guides the programming. The festival invites the public to discover music through a cultural and geographical lens, creating bridges between repertoires and eras.
The 44th edition of the Périgord Noir Festival is expected for summer 2026. The festival will offer a new theme with classical, baroque, and jazz music concerts in the heritage sites of Périgord Noir. Dates and program to be confirmed.
