The popular and festive music festival in the heart of the Hautes-Vosges
Born from the energy of six passionate friends, the Festival des Efousnés takes over the Lac de la Moselotte leisure center in Saulxures-sur-Moselotte for a grand popular mountain music celebration in the Vosges. "Efousnés" means "excited, agitated" in the local Vosgian dialect, a name that sums up the spirit of this friendly and generous event. Driven by the association chaired by Cédric Thiriet, the festival offers an eclectic program mixing festive rock, French chanson, and emerging artists, with the ambition to make culture accessible to all and to promote the heritage of the Haute Moselotte.
In August 2024, six friends from Saulxures-sur-Moselotte founded the association Les Efousnés after a year of joint reflection. The name, borrowed from the Vosgian dialect, means "excited, agitated" and derives from the word "fou" (crazy). Under the presidency of Cédric Thiriet, the team of 25 members sets an ambitious goal: to create a popular music festival in the heart of the Hautes-Vosges, capable of uniting all generations around musical culture and highlighting this mountain region.
The festival sets up its base at the Lac de la Moselotte leisure center, at 336 route des Amias. This exceptional site, nestled between fir forests and Vosgian peaks, offers an ideal natural setting for an open-air music event. The proximity of the lake, the green spaces, and the leisure center's infrastructure allow for optimal public reception. Festival-goers enjoy a unique mountain setting, a world away from urban festivals, where the Vosgian nature fully participates in the experience.
For its first edition in June 2026, the Festival des Efousnés makes a strong impact with a renowned headliner: Les Fatals Picards, an emblematic group of wild, committed, and jubilant French rock that has been thrilling all generations for over twenty years. The group Une Touche d'Optimisme completes the lineup with its festive and warm energy, promising an unforgettable moment of sharing. Students from Lycée Malraux also participate in the programming, illustrating the association's desire to foster the emergence of local artists. The concerts run from 5 PM to 1 AM, offering a long musical evening under the Vosgian stars.
Even before the festival's launch, Les Efousnés demonstrated their dynamism by organizing several precursor events in 2025: a St. Patrick's Day dinner-concert in March at the multipurpose hall (269 reservations), a free aperitif-concert in June by the lake with three local bands (Le Temps d'un Soir, Ze Groop, Thé Vintage) on a unique mobile stage, a second aperitif-concert in August with Les Terriens de Souche and David Vincent, and the first edition of Efous'Beer in November, an evening dedicated to craft beers and live music. Supported by the municipality of Saulxures-sur-Moselotte and the Communauté de Communes des Hautes-Vosges, the festival is part of a cultural development initiative for the region with an estimated budget of 50,000 euros for this first edition.
