Festival des Solidarités de Tours

A citizen festival for international solidarity

The Festival des Solidarités (formerly International Solidarity Week) is a national event launched over 20 years ago to promote and celebrate solidarity open to the world and others. In Tours, the festival is coordinated by Centraider, the regional multi-stakeholder network for international cooperation and solidarity in Centre-Val de Loire, which has been mobilizing local groups for over 15 years.

A rich and committed program

For two weeks in November, Festisol de Tours offers a varied and committed program:

• Debates and conferences: citizen exchanges on the major issues of international solidarity, the environment, and people's rights, led by experts and field actors.
• Film screenings: documentaries and films followed by debates on social and environmental realities around the world.
• Concerts and shows: committed artistic proposals that combine music, theater, and visual arts.
• Participatory workshops: creative workshops, cooperative games, solidarity cooking, and awareness-raising workshops for children and adults.
• Exhibitions: thematic presentations on the issues of solidarity, sustainable development, and international cooperation.

Current and engaging themes

From 2024 to 2026, the Festival des Solidarités is focusing on the theme "Environment and People's Rights". This focus allows for an exploration of the links between environmental crises and human rights, inviting citizens to understand how local and global issues are interconnected and to imagine concrete solutions for a fairer world.

A mobilized network of associations

Festisol de Tours relies on a dense network of local associations, local authorities, educational institutions, and socio-cultural structures that jointly organize over a hundred friendly and committed activities. Each year, volunteers and partners mobilize to make the festival a highlight of citizen life in Tours, contributing to building a more supportive and sustainable society.
