Le Festival du Rocher: Concerts at the Foot of the Pierrelatte Rock

The Festival du Rocher is the flagship musical event of Pierrelatte, organized every summer by the town in the Théâtre de Verdure du Rocher. This natural amphitheater, nestled at the foot of the town's emblematic rock, offers a spectacular setting for open-air concerts under the stars of Drôme provençale.

A Site Steeped in History

The Rocher de Pierrelatte, an imposing limestone formation in the heart of the town, has been classified as a natural monument of artistic character in 1921. It was in this same year that the first Festival du Rocher events were organized, combining theater and opera. After a long hiatus, the festival was revived in its current musical format in 2017 by the municipality, regaining its vocation as an open-air performance venue.

A Popular and Eclectic Program

The Festival du Rocher features nationally renowned artists over two evenings in July. Over the years, the stage of the Théâtre de Verdure has hosted Louane, MC Solaar, Vald, Kyo, Amir, Magic System, Claudio Capéo, Joachim Garraud, and many other artists. The programming mixes French variety, rap, pop, and festive music, attracting a family and intergenerational audience.

2025 Edition: IAM and Jérémy Frérot

The 9th edition of the Festival du Rocher will take place on July 19 and 20, 2025, with a remarkable lineup: the legendary group IAM and Maheva on Saturday, Vernis Rouge and Jérémy Frérot on Sunday. The site also offers on-site catering thanks to food trucks and a refreshment bar.

A Unique Green Theater

The Théâtre de Verdure du Rocher, a true natural setting in the city center, offers an incomparable concert experience. The natural acoustics of the place and the panorama of the illuminated rock create a magical atmosphere that makes this festival unique in the cultural landscape of the Drôme region.
