Music and solidarity at the Emmaüs Village of Lescar
Created in 2008, the Festival Emmaüs Lescar Pau is a solidarity music event organized every summer at the Emmaüs Village of Lescar, on the Chemin Salie. This unique festival combines music concerts — rock, electro, folk, hip-hop — and social engagement, with all proceeds going to Emmaüs to help people in precarious situations. Driven by volunteers and companions of Emmaüs Lescar-Pau, the festival offers an eclectic program with local, national, and international artists, in a friendly and activist atmosphere.
Since 2008, the Festival Emmaüs Lescar Pau has embodied the meeting of music and solidarity. Organized in the heart of the Emmaüs Village of Lescar, this festival is much more than just a musical event: it is an act of concrete solidarity, with all profits donated to Emmaüs to support people in need.
The Emmaüs Village of Lescar-Pau, founded in 1982, is a place of life and work for Emmaüs companions. It is in this singular setting, amidst the recovery and recycling workshops, that the festival unfolds each summer. The main stage is set up outdoors, offering festival-goers a musical experience in an environment rich in meaning and social history.
The Festival Emmaüs Lescar Pau stands out for the diversity of its program, which mixes rock, electro, folk, hip-hop, reggae, and world music. Renowned national artists like Shaka Ponk, scheduled for 2025, share the stage with emerging talents and local bands, offering a lineup that is both popular and discerning.
Beyond the concerts, the festival offers conferences-debates on themes of solidarity, the circular economy, social exclusion, and ecological transition. Participatory workshops, exhibitions, and networking spaces complete the program, making the festival a place for reflection and exchange as well as a festive space.
All festival proceeds — ticketing, catering, bar — are donated to Emmaüs Lescar-Pau to fund its reception, accommodation, and social reintegration activities. This solidarity economic model makes the festival a unique event in the festival landscape of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, where each purchased ticket directly contributes to social action.
The Emmaüs Festival is entirely organized by volunteers and companions of the Emmaüs Village, with the support of local and institutional partners. This human dimension gives the festival a warm and authentic atmosphere, far from large commercial events.
The Festival Emmaüs Lescar Pau will return in August 2026 to the Emmaüs Village of Lescar for a new edition combining concerts, conferences, and solidarity. The lineup will be announced in the spring of 2026.
