GéNéRiQ: the festival that invests everyday places
Since 2007, Festival GéNéRiQ has been reinventing the concert experience by investing unusual everyday places: offices, apartments, abbeys, art galleries, FRAC, and improbable spaces. This unique artistic approach aims to bring music closer to the public by creating intimate and surprising moments of sharing, far from traditional concert halls.
A network of cities on the Rhine-Rhône axis
The festival is supported by a network of six partner cultural organizations located on the Rhine-Rhône axis: the Eurockéennes de Belfort, La Vapeur (Dijon), Le Moloco (Audincourt/Montbéliard), Le Noumatrouff (Mulhouse), La Rodia (Besançon), and La Poudrière (Belfort). This inter-organizational collaboration is unique in France and allows the festival to shine across a vast territory, reaching diverse audiences often far from traditional cultural offerings.
Besançon at the heart of the festival
In Besançon, Festival GéNéRiQ offers about ten concerts spread over four days in eight different venues. La Rodia hosts the main evenings, but concerts are also scheduled in unexpected spaces: the FRAC Franche-Comté, galleries, private apartments, and other surprising locations in the city.
An eclectic and bold program
The programming of Festival GéNéRiQ boldly mixes pop, electro, hip-hop, indie-rock, and world music. The festival favors emerging artists, unique projects, and offbeat musical proposals, while also welcoming recognized headliners. Among the artists who have participated in recent editions: Feu! Chatterton, Fakear, Carl Barât, and many discoveries.
A winter festival that warms the ears
Scheduled every year in February, Festival GéNéRiQ brings a breath of musical creativity to the heart of winter. This original calendar positioning gives it a strong identity and distinguishes it from summer festivals. The intimate concerts in heated venues create a warm and friendly atmosphere, conducive to discovery and sharing.
