The emblematic festival of Jura's Vin Jaune, a traveling event since 1997
Created in 1997, the Percée du Vin Jaune is the most emblematic wine event of the Jura vineyard. Every year in January-February, a town in the Jura region hosts this major popular festival celebrating the tapping of the new vintage of Vin Jaune, after its minimum six years and three months of aging under veil. Tastings, meetings with winemakers, culinary competitions, auctions, and festive entertainment bring together over 30,000 visitors for a weekend.
The Percée du Vin Jaune is the most prestigious and popular wine event in the Jura vineyard. Created in 1997, this major traveling festival celebrates annually the tapping of the new vintage of Vin Jaune, this unique golden nectar in the world, aged for a minimum of six years and three months under a veil of yeast in Jura cellars.
Each edition takes place in a different town in the Jura vineyard, from L'Étoile to Château-Chalon, from Arbois to Poligny, from Pupillin to Lons-le-Saunier. This traveling nature highlights the diversity of Jura's terroirs and wine villages, offering each edition a unique setting and atmosphere.
Over a weekend, visitors can taste the new vintage from Jura winemakers, participate in culinary competitions, attend auctions of exceptional wines, enjoy musical evenings with winemakers, and discover local gastronomy. The Percée ceremony, a highlight of the event, officially marks the opening of the first barrel of the new vintage.
With over 30,000 visitors per edition, the Percée du Vin Jaune has become one of the largest wine events in France. It contributes to the international reputation of the Jura vineyard and its prestigious appellations: Château-Chalon, Arbois, L'Étoile, Côtes du Jura. The event is organized by the association of Ambassadeurs des Vins Jaunes.
After a year's break in 2025, the Percée du Vin Jaune made its grand return in 2026 in Lons-le-Saunier in a redesigned format, with enhanced organization and controlled capacity.
