Imag'in Festival

The meeting point for urban music in Touraine

Since 2009, the Imag'in Festival has established itself as the major event for urban music in Tours. Created on the initiative of the association Prod'Cité, this musical event aims to break down barriers between genres and foster dialogue between aesthetics that don't always meet: rap, world music, electro, amplified music, and contemporary sound creations.

A cultural and social project

Imag'in is not limited to a simple concert lineup. The festival is part of a movement to promote urban culture as a preferred mode of social engagement and integration. Throughout the year, the Prod'Cité association hosts artists in its premises at the Sanitas social center, in the heart of Tours, where they can create their musical and artistic works with professional equipment.

A springboard for emerging artists

The festival gives pride of place to emerging artists and talents in the making. The winners of the competition organized as part of Imag'in automatically become members of the association, which then supports their artistic development by finding them other programming opportunities.

Iconic venues in the Tours region

The festival evenings take place in iconic venues in the Tours metropolitan area, notably the Nouvel Atrium in Saint-Avertin and the Temps Machine in Joué-lès-Tours. These spaces offer optimal technical conditions for amplified and electronic music.

Imag'in's programming reflects the diversity of contemporary urban cultures. By mixing rap, world music, electro, and experimental creations, the festival offers a rich and surprising musical experience that appeals to a varied audience, from hip-hop fans to electronic music enthusiasts.

Imag'in actively contributes to the cultural vitality of the Tours metropolitan area and is part of the network of cultural structures in the Centre-Val de Loire region, supported by Fraca-Ma (Regional Federation of Cultural and Associative Actors in Contemporary Music).
