A tradition of excellence in the heart of Périgord
Since 1992, the Festival Musique en Sol has perpetuated a tradition of musical excellence in the majestic setting of the Abbatiale of Paunat. This 11th-century Romanesque building is distinguished by its remarkable architecture, its exceptional acoustics, and an atmosphere steeped in history, offering an intimate setting where music resonates with unique intensity.
Showcasing young talent
The festival has built a reputation as a talent incubator by hosting young, rising musicians each summer, who then perform on the world's greatest lyrical and instrumental art stages. The program includes recitals, chamber music, opera, baroque music, and contemporary music.
A festival that shines beyond Paunat
For several years, the festival has been expanding its reach by investing in other exceptional heritage sites in Périgord: the chapel of Hôpital Vauclaire, the Abbey of Chancelade, and the church of Saint-Étienne de Périgueux. This expansion allows it to reach a wider audience while highlighting the architectural heritage of the Dordogne.

34th edition — August 2026
The Festival Musique en Sol will return in August 2026 for its 34th edition. Concerts will be held at the Abbatiale de Paunat and possibly in other heritage sites in Périgord. The program will feature young talents from the classical and lyrical scene. Dates and detailed program to be confirmed.
