The royal bastide transforms into a medieval city

The royal bastide of Domme, perched on its cliff overlooking the Dordogne valley and listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, hosts the Médiévales Fantastiques every autumn. Ramparts, fortified gates, picturesque alleys, and a natural cave offer a unique setting for this medieval festival.

Market, banquet, and lighting

On the Place de la Halle, a large medieval craft market brings together artisans and demonstrations of ancestral skills, accompanied by a medieval tavern serving hypocras and Domme wine. On Saturday evening, a medieval banquet worthy of ancient feasts is followed by the spectacular lighting of the Porte des Tours, a highlight of the festival.

Parade and fantastic entertainment

On Sunday morning at 11 am, a grand medieval parade takes over the streets of the bastide: musicians, stilt walkers, jugglers, fantastic creatures, and costumed villagers form a colorful procession. Equestrian shows, a large wooden Ferris wheel, and entertainment for all ages complete this journey back in time.
