Artistic walk in the Nantes vineyard
Le Nez en l'Air is a free cultural festival organized by the Nantes collective Peps'Art, offering a unique encounter between artistic creation and wine-making know-how in the heart of the Nantes vineyard. For four days, about twenty local artists exhibit their works - paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos - in the cellars and estates of Muscadet, between La Haye-Fouassière, Saint-Fiacre-sur-Maine, Château-Thébaud, and La Chapelle-Heulin. Concerts, dance, theatrical performances, and wine tastings complete this artistic walk on foot or by bike.
Born in 2022 from the meeting between passionate winemakers and artists from the Peps'Art collective, the Le Nez en l'Air festival is an original cultural event that breaks down the barriers of art venues by placing artworks as close as possible to the vines. Every spring, for four days, the Muscadet wine estates open their doors to host exhibitions, concerts, shows, and artistic encounters in an exceptional setting.
The festival unfolds across several towns in the Nantes vineyard and numerous prestigious wine estates. Visitors are invited to follow a route connecting the different sites on foot, by bike, or by car, discovering original works at each stop, presented in the cellars, tasting rooms, and estate gardens.
Each edition brings together around twenty local artists who present over 200 original works. A diversity of disciplines is on display: paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and videos fill the spaces of the wine estates, creating an unprecedented dialogue between contemporary creation and wine heritage.
Beyond the exhibitions, the festival offers a varied program that emphasizes multidisciplinarity:
The Peps'Art association, created in 2019, is a community art gallery run by a collective of about twenty Nantes-based artists. Its mission: to unite around artistic creation and promote professional artists in the visual arts field. Le Nez en l'Air is the collective's flagship event, embodying its philosophy of short-circuit art, accessible to all and rooted in the territory.
Since its first edition in autumn 2022, the festival has been steadily growing. From three towns and four estates in its early editions, the event has expanded to new venues, notably with the addition of La Chapelle-Heulin in 2025 and an immersive opening at the La Feuille gallery in Le Landreau planned for 2026. This growth reflects the enthusiasm of the public and winemakers for this unique initiative in the Nantes vineyard.
The 4th edition of the Le Nez en l'Air festival will take place from April 9 to 12, 2026, in the Nantes vineyard, with three participating estates: Bonnet Huteau, Landron, and Famille Lieubeau. New feature: an inaugural immersive opening at the La Feuille gallery in Le Landreau.
The Le Nez en l'Air festival returns for its 4th edition from April 9 to 12, 2026, in the Nantes vineyard. This new edition promises a unique encounter between artistic creation, vineyard landscapes, and the know-how of winemakers, with a clear commitment to breaking down art dissemination barriers by placing artworks as close as possible to the vines.
The 2026 edition innovates with an inaugural immersive opening on Friday, April 10, at La Feuille, an immersive gallery located in the town of Le Landreau. A unique moment to discover the artworks in an unprecedented setting.
