Chamber music in the heart of Morvan and Burgundy heritage
Since 2002, the Le Vent sur l'Arbre festival has brought chamber music to the heart of Morvan. Directed by violinist Anna Göckel, it offers five days of concerts in August in exceptional locations: the church of Millay, Saint-Honoré-les-Bains, and the archaeological site of Bibracte. An intimate musical experience in a preserved natural and heritage setting.
The Le Vent sur l'Arbre festival is an invitation to experience chamber music in exceptional locations in the heart of the Nivernais Morvan. For over twenty years, this intimate and demanding festival has brought classical music to remarkable villages and heritage sites, creating a unique dialogue between art and territory.
Under the artistic direction of violinist Anna Göckel, the festival builds each edition around a strong theme that guides the programming and enriches the listening experience. In 2025, the festival explores the links between music and meditation; in 2026, it will celebrate its 25th anniversary with the theme "The Voices of Music".
Concerts unfold in remarkable heritage sites in the Nièvre region:
The festival invites top-level chamber musicians, soloists, and ensembles, for original programs mixing classical, romantic, and contemporary repertoire. Each concert is conceived as a complete musical experience, where the quality of the performance is nourished by the beauty of the locations.
Le Vent sur l'Arbre does more than just program concerts: it actively participates in the cultural life of Morvan by creating partnerships with local institutions, notably Bibracte, and by offering free events and cultural mediation. The festival thus contributes to the influence of Morvan's heritage while providing access to classical music in a rural setting.
The 2026 edition of the Le Vent sur l'Arbre festival, the festival's 25th anniversary, will be held from August 8 to 12, 2026, on the theme "The Voices of Music". A program of chamber music concerts in the heritage sites of Morvan.
