Europe's biggest magic show stops in Clermont-Ferrand
Created in 1954 by the Lyon-based magician André Sanlaville, the Festival Mondial de la Magie is considered Europe's biggest magic show. After ten consecutive summers of success at the Olympia and touring worldwide, the festival was relaunched in 2023 by a new production. Grand illusions, mentalism, comedy magic, close-up magic, digital magic, and manipulation: the world's most internationally awarded magicians perform on the stage of the Maison de la Culture.
The Festival Mondial de la Magie is a traveling magic show created in 1954 by the Lyon-based magician André Sanlaville. This innovative and visionary show played for ten consecutive summers at the Olympia in Paris before conquering stages around the world, from America to Asia, from Africa to the Middle East.
After André Sanlaville's retirement in 1987, a passionate new production decided to relaunch the Festival Mondial de la Magie in 2023. The success was immediate: the show has already captivated over 100,000 spectators in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
The Festival Mondial de la Magie brings together on stage the world's greatest magicians, all recipients of prestigious awards at major international magic festivals. The show features all forms of illusion:
The program is specially designed to amaze the whole family. No act is intended to frighten children. However, the show is not recommended for children under 4 years old due to the show's duration and sound volume.
The Festival Mondial de la Magie travels to the biggest venues in France and Europe: Dôme de Paris, Zéniths, Maisons de la Culture, and prestigious theaters. The 2025-2026 tour includes stops in many French cities, including Clermont-Ferrand.
