Trans'urbaines — edition 2026
As the Clermont-Ferrand stop of Mourad Merzouki's Karavel Festival, the Trans'urbaines event brings rhythm to the city from October 24 to November 8, 2026. Expect hip-hop dance on major stages and in the streets, battles, free introductory workshops, and open-mic style dance sessions. See the full program by venue below.
The 2026 Trans'urbaines festival takes place from October 24 to November 8 in Clermont-Ferrand, as part of the local leg of the Karavel Festival directed by choreographer Mourad Merzouki. The event kicks off on October 24 with a free hip-hop dance workshop for beginners and advanced dancers at the Médiathèque Jack-Ralite (Croix-Neyrat).
Performances follow in early November at the Maison de la Culture: "Mémoires dansées" by the local company Espace des Sens on November 3, "Macéra" by Compagnie Pyramid on November 4, "La Couleur de la grenade" by Käfig on November 6 (a tribute to Armenian filmmaker Sergei Parajanov), and "Ritam" by Kader Belmoktar and Stracho Temelkovski on November 7. Also on November 7, HippoH Dance Bar x Moovance will host a free open stage at Le Pic. The festival concludes on November 8 with the Trans'urbaines Battle at La Coopérative de Mai, organized in partnership with the local collective Danse Sans Limite.

Les Trans'urbaines: Clermont-Ferrand's Hip-Hop Festival
Since 1997, the Les Trans'urbaines festival has been making Clermont-Ferrand vibrate to the rhythm of hip-hop culture. Created by the association Prémudanse, this event has become over the years an unmissable rendezvous for urban culture enthusiasts in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
A Festival Dedicated to Urban Cultures
Les Trans'urbaines explores all facets of hip-hop culture:
- Hip-hop dance: performances by renowned and emerging companies, battles, and showcases
- Graffiti: mural creations, exhibitions, and workshops
- DJing: sets and turntablism demonstrations
- Rap and urban music: concerts and showcases
Performances for All Audiences
For one week, the festival offers performances by renowned or emerging companies, as well as opportunities for meetings and artistic practice to highlight the richness of the hip-hop movement. Shows for young audiences and participatory workshops allow all ages to discover and practice urban disciplines.
A New Era with the Karavel Festival
In 2025, Les Trans'urbaines enters a new phase by becoming a stop on the Karavel Festival, created in 2007 by choreographer Mourad Merzouki. This collaboration allows the Clermont festival to benefit from Karavel's national reach while maintaining its identity and local roots.
A Commitment to Cultural Democratization
Les Trans'urbaines is not limited to stage performances. The festival carries out in-depth work with school audiences and neighborhood residents, offering dance workshops, graffiti introductions, and artist encounters. This commitment to cultural democratization has been at the heart of the festival's project since its inception.
