The street arts festival of the 11th arrondissement of Paris
Since 1997, the Festival Onze Bouge, always! has been the unmissable event for street arts and public space in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. For four days at the end of May, the streets, squares, parks, and gardens of the 11th arrondissement are transformed into open-air stages for free theater, circus, dance, music, and visual arts performances. Organized by the association À Suivre, this popular and family-friendly festival celebrates artistic creation in public spaces with a demanding yet accessible program.
Born in 1997 on the initiative of the association À Suivre, Festival Onze Bouge has become, in nearly thirty years, one of the major cultural events of the 11th arrondissement of Paris. What was initially just a neighborhood initiative has transformed into a true festival of street arts and public space, recognized by performing arts professionals and supported by the City of Paris, the Mayor's Office of the 11th arrondissement, and the Île-de-France Region.
Festival Onze Bouge takes over the streets, squares, parks, stadiums, and public spaces of the 11th arrondissement to offer a program that is entirely free. Street theater, contemporary circus, dance, music, visual arts, participatory installations: the invited companies offer a variety of artistic forms, often created or adapted specifically for the neighborhood's locations.
In 2019, the festival affirmed its identity by positioning itself as a festival of street arts and public space, strengthening its commitment to artistic creation in the city's shared spaces. Each edition is an opportunity to discover emerging companies and established artists in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
Onze Bouge is deeply rooted in the life of the 11th arrondissement. The festival mobilizes residents, shopkeepers, schools, and neighborhood associations, who actively participate in organizing and hosting the performances. The Préludes, pre-festival days, help prepare the event with meetings, workshops, and local performances in the weeks leading up to the festival.
Among the companies that have marked the festival's history are emblematic names in contemporary circus and street arts: Compagnie Carabosse, Cirque Inshi, Cie 3mètres33, Le Polymorphe, Cie Titanos, and many others.
Festival Onze Bouge celebrates its 30th edition from May 28 to 31, 2026, with Préludes on May 20 and 21. For this anniversary, an exceptional program of free theater, circus, and dance performances will take over the 11th arrondissement of Paris.
