Franco-Quebecois Festival of Méobecq
The Partir-Revenir Festival is a Franco-Quebecois cultural event held every summer in Méobecq, in the heart of Brenne in the Indre region. Born from a desire to weave links between French and Quebecois cultures, this friendly festival offers live performances, concerts, participatory workshops, and encounters between artists from both sides of the Atlantic. In a warm and village-like atmosphere, it celebrates the Francophonie through music, theater, dance, and popular traditions.
The Partir-Revenir Festival is a unique event in Berry that celebrates the cultural ties between France and Quebec. Set in the charming village of Méobecq, in the heart of the Brenne Regional Natural Park, this festival brings together traditions and artistic creations from both sides of the Atlantic.
Over several days in July, the festival offers a varied program mixing concerts, street performances, theater, storytelling, and participatory workshops. French and Quebecois artists share the stage to offer the public moments of discovery and sharing around Francophone song, traditional music, and performing arts.
During the festival, the village of Méobecq transforms into an open-air celebration space. The alleys, squares, and gardens host itinerant performances, exhibitions, and activities for all ages. The Romanesque abbey of Méobecq, a jewel of local heritage, serves as a backdrop for certain performances, offering an exceptional setting for the shows.
Beyond the artistic program, the Partir-Revenir Festival is a space for human encounters where locals, visitors, and artists come together for shared meals, musical evenings, and moments of conviviality. The festival is driven by the commitment of passionate volunteers and the desire to keep culture alive in rural areas, in a spirit of openness and Francophone solidarity.
Located at the gateway to Brenne, nicknamed the "land of a thousand ponds," the festival offers an opportunity to discover a territory rich in biodiversity and heritage. Festival-goers can enjoy nature walks, visits to local heritage sites, and a peaceful environment conducive to relaxation and discovery.
