The 100% family festival of the Théâtre de Charleville-Mézières
The Plein Sens festival was born in 2021 within the Théâtre de Charleville-Mézières (TCM), with the ambition of offering an artistic event dedicated to young audiences and families. Every year in February, for nearly a week, the TCM opens its doors to a rich and varied program, organized around a different theme that guides the selection of shows, workshops, and activities. This warm and accessible festival has become a highlight of the Carolomacérienne cultural season.
Live performances for all ages
The heart of the Plein Sens festival beats to the rhythm of live performances. Theater, dance, music, puppets, circus: artistic forms cross and respond to each other to amaze toddlers and teenagers alike. The invited companies offer original creations designed for young audiences, where imagination, poetry, and sensory experience are at the forefront. Each performance is an opportunity for an encounter between artists and young audiences, in a welcoming and stimulating environment.
Workshops, installations, and surprises
Beyond the shows, the Plein Sens festival offers numerous participatory activities: creative workshops, interactive installations, games, readings, and other surprises punctuate the week. Children are invited to touch, experiment, create, and play in specially designed spaces. Snacks offered after certain shows extend the convivial moment. The festival also addresses the educational world, with school sessions and mediation tools for teachers.
A different theme each year
Each edition of the Plein Sens festival explores a theme that gives its color to the programming. In 2024, the festival invited a journey around Latin America. In 2025, nature was at the heart of the artistic journey, notably with the musical tale The Forgotten Seeds. For the 6th edition in 2026, music and sounds are highlighted, offering an unprecedented sensory exploration of the world of sound.
