About Quinte et Sens

The Quinte et Sens Festival, subtitled "From Bach to Bacchus", offers a unique experience combining classical music concerts, wine tastings, and heritage discovery in the Amboise region. Organized by the association Quinte et Sens, Musique, Patrimoine et Vignoble, in partnership with the CCVA and the municipalities of Amboise, Pocé-sur-Cisse, and Cangey, the festival takes over churches, museums, and public spaces in the area every summer. The program highlights young musicians and established artists in local concerts, accompanied by visits to vineyards and tastings of AOC Touraine-Amboise wines.

Quinte et Sens Festival: "From Bach to Bacchus", musical delights in Amboise

The Quinte et Sens Festival embodies a simple and appealing idea: to marry the pleasures of classical music with those of wine and heritage. Under the evocative subtitle "From Bach to Bacchus", the festival offers a program of chamber music concerts each summer, combined with local wine tastings and the discovery of the heritage sites of Amboise.

A dynamic association serving music

The association Quinte et Sens, Musique, Patrimoine et Vignoble, founded with the aim of serving classical music and musicians, organizes the festival in partnership with the Communauté de communes du Val d'Amboise (CCVA) and the municipalities of Amboise, Pocé-sur-Cisse, and Cangey. The festival aims to reach new audiences, particularly rural populations, those distant from culture, and young people, through local concerts featuring young musicians.

Concerts in exceptional locations

The festival's concerts take place in various heritage locations in Amboise: historic churches, museums, chapels, public squares, and vineyards. This itinerancy allows the public to discover often little-known sites while enjoying natural acoustics and an intimate atmosphere.

Original themes

Each edition of the festival is built around an original theme that guides the musical programming and associated activities. The festival has notably hosted Czech composer Kryštof Mařatka in residence, organizing an edition around Czech composers — Dvořák, Suk, Janáček — alongside the great classics. Other editions have explored the links between music and prehistoric instruments, opening unexpected perspectives on the history of music.

The meeting of music and terroir

The originality of the Quinte et Sens Festival lies in its association of classical music with the wine terroir of Amboise. Tastings of AOC Touraine-Amboise wines, vineyard visits, and meetings with winemakers complement the concerts, creating a complete sensory experience that appeals to the five senses — hence the festival's name.

An accessible and friendly festival

True to its mission of democratizing classical music, the Quinte et Sens Festival offers accessible prices and a friendly atmosphere. The concerts, often followed by a moment of sharing over a glass of wine, allow for warm exchanges between musicians, winemakers, and the public, in the spirit of a human-scale festival rooted in its territory.

Quinte et Sens — edition 2026
