Second Geste: Contemporary Circus Arrives in Saint-Pair-sur-Mer

Since 2005, the Second Geste festival has made Saint-Pair-sur-Mer vibrate to the rhythm of contemporary circus. For four days in October, the Place des Loisirs transforms into a circus village, with a large tent as the beating heart of the festival. Organized by the Office culturel de Saint-Pair-sur-Mer, this event has become an essential reference in Normandy for circus arts.

A Program at the Crossroads of Disciplines

Second Geste is an invitation to dream, with a program that lies at the crossroads of circus, theater, and music. The invited companies offer shows that renew circus forms: acrobatics, juggling, trapeze, tightrope walking, but also contemporary clowning, aerial dance, and musical performances. The festival favors original creations and intimate forms that allow for a unique proximity between artists and spectators under the tent.

Nationally and Internationally Renowned Companies

Over the years, Second Geste has hosted leading contemporary French and European circus companies, such as Compagnie Galapiat Cirque or Circus I Love You. The 20th edition in 2024 marked a symbolic milestone, demonstrating the longevity and quality of this festival, which has been firmly rooted in the cultural landscape of Manche for two decades.

A Family-Friendly and Accessible Event

Second Geste is a festival designed for the whole family. The shows are accessible to children and adults alike, and some performances are specifically designed for young audiences. Ticketing is managed by the Office culturel de Saint-Pair-sur-Mer, available by phone or in person at the town hall. The festival benefits from the support of the Granville Terre et Mer intercommunal council and Norman regional authorities.
