Résonance: When Electro Meets Basque Traditions
Festival Résonance is a new kind of musical event in the Basque Country, offering a bold encounter between electronic music and Basque traditions. Located in Urrugne, on an outdoor site at 110 chemin de Bixikenea, the festival offers an exceptional natural setting between the mountains and the ocean for three days of celebration and musical discovery.
36 Hours of Electronic Music
The heart of the festival beats to the rhythm of 36 hours of electronic music, from 2 PM to 2 AM each day. The lineup, composed of local artists and special guests, explores the different facets of electronic music: techno, house, ambient, and experimental sounds. The 2025 edition, named "Edition Belharra" (after the famous giant wave of the Basque coast), affirmed the festival's maritime and Basque identity.
A Dialogue Between Modernity and Traditions
Résonance's originality lies in its permanent dialogue between modernity and traditions. The festival offers interludes of traditional Basque singing between the electro sets, creating moments of striking contrast. A Basque pelota tournament is organized during the day, anchoring the event in the local sporting culture.
The site also hosts a local creators' market, a chill zone to relax between sets, and food & drink stands offering a variety of catering.
A Festival Rooted in its Territory
Festival Résonance is part of the cultural fabric of Urrugne, a town on the Basque coast between Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Hendaye. By choosing to integrate Basque traditions into an electronic music event, the organizers affirm that Basque culture can dialogue with all forms of contemporary artistic expression, without losing its authenticity.
