Street arts, theatre, circus, and open-air music festival in Saint-Grégoire
The Festival Robinson is a free street arts festival held annually in June at Parc Robinson, in Saint-Grégoire (Ille-et-Vilaine, near Rennes). For a weekend, theatre, circus, music, dance, and spectacular performances take over the lawns, meadows, and canal banks of the park, in a natural family setting.
Created in 1995 by two local associations with the support of the town hall, the festival is now organised by the City of Saint-Grégoire. Each year, it brings together nearly 10,000 festival-goers around an eclectic program combining established companies, local artists, and the local music school.
The Festival Robinson is one of the emblematic cultural events of the Rennes metropolitan area. Located in the heart of Parc Robinson, in Saint-Grégoire (35760), the event offers a two-day program in June of open-air theatre, circus, music, dance, and opera, in a green setting bordered by the Ille-et-Rance canal.
The festival is organised by the City of Saint-Grégoire, which has made it one of the pillars of its cultural policy. Admission is free for all shows, without reservation, to make culture accessible to the widest audience. The TUBA association manages the festival's refreshment stand and retains all its profits.
Created in 1995 by two local associations, the Festival Robinson is now in its 30th edition. Over the years, it has established itself as an eagerly anticipated event for live performance enthusiasts in Ille-et-Vilaine, with a program that brings together professional companies (circus, theatre, music) and local actors (Mélod'Ille music school, Paul Ruaudel media library).
The festival unfolds across seven distinct areas of Parc Robinson and its surroundings: the Pelouse Centrale, Meadow 1, Meadow 2, Cale Robinson (by the canal), the Mill Garden, the Leisure Garden, and the Kayak Base. A musical stroll is also offered in the shopping gallery of the nearby E.Leclerc Commercial Centre.
The detailed program is published annually on the official website of the City of Saint-Grégoire (Festival Robinson section) and relayed on the @festivalrobinson Instagram account. Food and refreshments are available on site throughout the festival.
