The Fête du Pommé de Bazouges-la-Pérouse is a cultural and gastronomic event held every autumn, on the third weekend of October, in Bazouges-la-Pérouse, in the north of Ille-et-Vilaine (Brittany).
The festival celebrates pommé, a traditional jam made from apples and cider, slowly reduced for nearly 24 hours in large copper basins. This slow cooking process, around which locals and visitors gather, is an opportunity for traditional songs, music, and shared moments. Visitors can try their hand at «ramaougeage» (stirring the pommé) and leave with their own jars.
On Saturday, the Confrérie du Pommé Bazougeais organizes its Chapter, with a parade of brotherhoods in traditional costumes and a gastronomic meal featuring pommé (by reservation). On Sunday, the festival is in full swing: a market of producers and artisans, pommé making and sales, hiking, chainsaw wood carving, exhibitions of old tools, Breton dances and music animate the commune all day long.
The event is organized by the Comité des Fêtes de Bazouges-la-Pérouse and the Confrérie du Pommé Bazougeais. For the detailed program and information on participating in the meal, consult the organizer's official channels or the Couesnon Marches de Bretagne tourist office.
