A festival of shared knowledge
The Topatopia Festival was born from a simple and generous idea: to create a space where everyone can learn, share, and create together. Founded in 2018 in Cambo-les-Bains by the Topatopia association, this festival stands out for its participatory and inclusive approach. Its name, forged from the Basque topatu (to meet) and the concept of utopia, reflects the ambition to create an ideal meeting place for knowledge, creativity, and conviviality.
Workshops for everyone, in every field
The heart of the festival lies in its participatory workshops. Artists, craftspeople, and enthusiasts share their expertise with the public in fields as varied as art, cooking, sports, recycling, and ecology. Each workshop is an invitation to experiment, create with your own hands, and leave with new skills. The festival encourages an active and playful approach where everyone, regardless of age, can try their hand at new practices.
Concerts, shows, and entertainment
Beyond the workshops, Topatopia offers a festive program featuring concerts, DJ sets, and live performances. The Fronton de Paxkaleku, the festival's iconic setting, transforms into a pop-up village where musical stages, exhibition spaces, and social areas mingle.
A pay-what-you-want, socially conscious event
True to its values of accessibility and sharing, the Topatopia Festival operates on a pay-what-you-want basis: a suggested price is offered, but everyone contributes what they wish. The Topatopia association, driven by a team of passionate volunteers, champions a festive and supportive vision of culture in the Basque Country. The festival is committed to eco-responsibility, with special attention paid to recycling, waste reduction, and environmental awareness.
A unique spot in the Basque interior
The lush setting of the Fronton de Paxkaleku in Cambo-les-Bains provides an ideal natural backdrop for this celebration of knowledge. Nestled among the hills of the Basque interior, far from the bustle of the coast, Topatopia offers an enchanting break where time stands still to make room for creativity and connection.
