Touche du Bois Festival: Puppets, Clowns, and Performing Arts in Grand-Pressigny

Born in 2022 from the initiative of the Compagnie Lait au Rhum, the Touche du Bois Festival is a multidisciplinary performing arts event that takes over the Pré du Petit Moulin in Grand-Pressigny, a small town in southern Touraine. This biennial festival offers a full weekend of puppetry, clowning, street theatre, concerts, and crafts, in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.

Wood, the common thread of a generous festival

The festival draws its name and inspiration from the Touche du Bois collective, a group of artists and craftspeople passionate about wood as a creative material. While wood remains a thematic and poetic common thread, the festival's program extends far beyond this material: puppet shows in all their forms, clown acts, itinerant street theatre, acoustic and amplified concerts, and a craft market offering creations in wood and other natural materials.

Shows for all ages

The program is designed to welcome all audiences, from toddlers to adults. The invited companies offer various formats: glove puppet shows, giant puppets, object theatre, burlesque clowning, acrobatics, and musical performances. The shows take place outdoors at the Pré du Petit Moulin, offering an ideal rural setting for families.

True to its popular and accessible approach, the Touche du Bois Festival operates on a free pricing basis: each spectator contributes according to their means, allowing everyone to enjoy the program without financial barriers. This philosophy is part of Compagnie Lait au Rhum's commitment to shared and open culture for all.

Strong territorial roots

Located in Grand-Pressigny, a town known for its Prehistory Museum and natural heritage, the festival contributes to the cultural animation of southern Touraine. The Compagnie Lait au Rhum, based locally, carries out an artistic project rooted in the territory, combining professional creation with community engagement. The festival has become biennial since 2024, with the next edition scheduled for 2026.

Alongside the shows, the festival offers a craft market, food and drink services, creating a space for conviviality and encounters in the heart of the Touraine countryside.
