Trail Sud Touraine

A semi-nocturnal trail in a natural setting

Created by the association Courir Marcher dans le Sud Touraine, the Trail Sud Touraine has become an unmissable event for nature race enthusiasts in Indre-et-Loire. The originality of this event lies in its semi-nocturnal format: starts are staggered between the afternoon and early evening, allowing runners to finish their course at dusk, or even under the stars, headlamp in hand.

Courses through valleys and plateaus

The different races follow varied trails through Sud Touraine:

• The 46 km (solo or duo): starts at 3:00 PM, this flagship event crosses the valleys of the Creuse and Claise, passing through Le Grand-Pressigny and Chaumussay before returning to Chambon via the heights of Barrou.
• The 22 km: starts at 5:30 PM, a technical course through the woods and meadows of Sud Touraine.
• The 12 km: starts at 6:00 PM, an accessible race for beginners in a natural environment.
• Nordic walking 11 km: starts at 3:45 PM, for fans of power walking.
• Free hike 11 km: starts between 3:50 PM and 4:00 PM, open to all.

A preserved natural area

The courses take place mainly in the woods and through meadows, offering privileged contact with a wild and preserved nature. The Bois des Cours plateau, the valleys of the Creuse and Claise form a varied and hilly landscape, alternating between technical trails, forest paths, and riverside sections. All starts are from Barrou, with arrivals in Chambon and a shuttle service to return to the starting point.

A friendly and accessible event

The Trail Sud Touraine focuses on friendliness and accessibility. With its five race and walk formats, the event caters to both experienced trail runners and occasional walkers. Refreshment points are well-cared for, the atmosphere is warm, and the finish in Chambon offers a moment of sharing among all participants. The event is an integral part of the Sud Touraine sports calendar.
