A local hub for a national campaign
The ALIMENTERRE International Festival was founded in 2007 by the CFSI (French Committee for International Solidarity). From October 15th to November 30th, screenings and debates are held throughout France and in about fifteen other countries, focusing on a selection of documentaries about agriculture and food systems. The 2025 edition brought together over 118,000 participants across nearly 2,850 screenings and events.
In the Indre department, the festival has been supported since 2013 by the Collectif ALIMENTERRE 36, coordinated from Châteauroux by the Ligue de l'enseignement de l'Indre. The collective brings together local associations focused on food sovereignty, small-scale farming, responsible consumption, and fair trade, integrating their local screenings into the national program.
An annual evening at the Salle Mademoiselle Ginette Bourgeault
In Palluau-sur-Indre, the event is organized by the AEP Saint-Sulpice, a popular education association chaired by Aurélie Brunet. It takes place in their own venue at 13 rue des Prunus: a 100-seat hall built in the 1950s by local residents. Managed by the association's volunteers, the hall was renamed in 2022 to honor Ginette Bourgeault, a former teacher and president of the AEP.
The AEP hosts one film screening and discussion each year in November, featuring a title from the national selection. The screening is followed by a moderated Q&A session with local guest speakers. Throughout the rest of the year, the association organizes the Camp Fripounet, Fripounet afternoons, theatrical performances, and a Mardi Gras meal.
