A photography festival that comes to your village
The Festival Tout Terrain brings contemporary photography directly to the villages of the Val d'Anglin in southern Indre. Rather than being confined to a single venue, the exhibitions are held outdoors across the various municipalities of the Communauté de communes Marche Occitane - Val d'Anglin. The organizers describe their mission as reaching every village in the community and exploring every artistic terrain. The festival is free to attend.
The Chambre noire residency and its showcase
Each year, the Association culturelle du Prieuré hosts a photographer for an eight-week creative residency within the Communauté de communes. Known as Chambre noire, this residency is supported by Valimage / Maison ligérienne de l'image, with backing from the Région Centre-Val de Loire, the Communauté de communes Marche Occitane - Val d'Anglin, and the town of Saint-Benoît-du-Sault. The resulting work is showcased during the festival in a nomadic format designed for everyday spaces such as cafés, libraries, shops, and public squares. Arianna Sanesi was the winner of the first residency in 2025, followed by Ismaël Bazri, who was hosted from February to May 2026.
The organizer
The Association culturelle du Prieuré de Saint-Benoît-du-Sault was founded in 2014 and is recognized as a public interest organization. Its mission is the renovation of the Prieuré site and its future transformation into a hub for contemporary artistic creation and heritage promotion in the Val d'Anglin. Since 2023, it has focused on two main pillars: supporting contemporary visual arts and promoting the heritage of the Val d'Anglin. It joined the regional network devenir·art in 2025.
