About Vents d'Est

For over forty years, from 1984 to 2025, the Vents d'Est Festival transformed the village of Furdenheim into a unique popular celebration in Alsace every first weekend of July. Organized by the ACSL Furdenheim association and its volunteers, the event brought together thousands of visitors from the Strasbourg area over three evenings, featuring music — electro, variety, dance — sound and light shows, laser shows, a final fireworks display, and Alsatian gastronomy served in traditional farms opened for the occasion. After its 43rd edition in July 2025, ACSL bowed out to completely rethink the formula: Vents d'Est will be replaced from 2026 by the new Summer Dreams Festival, organized by the same association but with a different identity and format (two large open-air themed evenings in late June).

ℹ️ Festival discontinued. After 43 years of existence (1984-2025), the Vents d'Est Festival bowed out after the July 2025 edition. The organizing association ACSL Furdenheim launched a new event in 2026, the Summer Dreams Festival (June 26-27, 2026), with a completely revamped formula. It is not simply a new edition of Vents d'Est but a distinct festival, with different programming and format. This page preserves the memory of the 43 editions of the Vents d'Est Festival.

Over forty years of village celebration

The history of the Vents d'Est Festival began in 1984, when the ACSL Furdenheim (Cultural, Sports and Leisure Association) launched a village festival that, over the decades, became an unmissable event of the Alsatian summer. In 2025, the festival celebrated its 43rd edition, demonstrating remarkable longevity for an event run exclusively by volunteers from a village of less than 2,000 inhabitants, on the outskirts of Strasbourg.

Three evenings, three atmospheres

Throughout its years of existence, the Vents d'Est Festival unfolded over three evenings, each with its own musical and festive identity. Friday was dedicated to electro and house music, with renowned DJs like La Folie Douce and DJ KAB setting the dance floor alight. Saturday offered a Biergarten (beer garden) in partnership with the Licorne brewery, featuring local artists and a friendly open-air brewery atmosphere. Sunday was dedicated to dance and variety, for a festive and dancing closing evening.

Pyrotechnic and sound and light shows

The signature of the Vents d'Est Festival was its spectacular visual shows. Each evening was punctuated by laser shows, sound and light shows, and pyrotechnic displays that illuminated the village sky. The final fireworks display, which became an emblematic moment of the festival, attracted spectators from across the Strasbourg region. The company Aquatique Show collaborated with the festival for many years, contributing to the renown of these visual animations, including a grand show of 250 drones during the 2024 edition.

Furdenheim: a village in celebration

The particularity of the Vents d'Est Festival lay in its village roots. Traditional Alsatian farms opened their courtyards and barns to welcome visitors, offering an authentic and warm setting. Food stalls offered regional specialties — flammekueche, sausages, choucroute — and local drinks. The village opened at 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday (7 PM on Friday) for three evenings of conviviality where all generations gathered.

The end of an adventure — and the birth of Summer Dreams

After the July 2025 edition, ACSL Furdenheim announced the definitive discontinuation of the Vents d'Est Festival to embark on a new formula. The new Summer Dreams Festival, organized by the same association, will take place on June 26 and 27, 2026, featuring two themed evenings (« Forever Electro » and « Forever Young Open Air ») with a program expected to attract between 8,000 and 10,000 festival-goers. It is a distinct event, with its own identity, succeeding Vents d'Est without being a mere new edition.

2026 edition cancelled — Festival Vents d'Est stopped after 43 years. The organizing association ACSL Furdenheim bowed out after the 43rd edition in July 2025 and launched a new, distinct event, the Festival Summer Dreams, on June 26 and 27, 2026.

ℹ️ 2026 edition cancelled — Festival Vents d'Est stopped.

No 43rd edition of the Festival Vents d'Est will take place in July 2026. After more than forty years of existence (1984-2025), the association ACSL Furdenheim put an end to the festival after the July 2025 edition to start anew with a different format. The new event, named Festival Summer Dreams, organized by the same association, will be held on June 26 and 27, 2026 in Furdenheim — it is a distinct festival, with its own identity, format, and program, and not a new edition of Vents d'Est.
