A contemporary garden dedicated to peace, at the foot of the Citadel of Bitche
The Jardin pour la Paix de Bitche is a remarkable contemporary garden laid out on the former military esplanade at the foot of the Vauban-fortified Citadel. Open from April to October, this garden, nearly 500 meters long, offers a succession of open and closed spaces along a panoramic route. Designed to reconcile the site's warlike past with a message of peace and biodiversity, it hosts guided tours and events in a setting where landscape art dialogues with history.
The Garden of Peace occupies a historically significant location: the former military esplanade of the Citadel of Bitche, once a training ground and fortification.
