Chaville in celebration: a village with a preserved spirit

Chaville (92370) is a small town in Hauts-de-Seine with about 19,000 inhabitants, nestled between the forests of Fausses-Reposes and Meudon, halfway between Versailles and Paris. Despite its proximity to the capital, Chaville has managed to retain an endearing village spirit, with its lively streets, its sports and cultural associations, and its popular events that bring the local community together throughout the year.

Village en Fête: Chaville's biggest table

The highlight of the year in Chaville is the Village en Fête, organized every year on the last Saturday of June on the Place du Marché. This popular event revives the concept of large, friendly communal meals that foster neighborly connections: long tables are set up on the Place du Marché for a shared outdoor meal. The evening begins with an aperitif offered by the Town, after which participants take their seats at the tables for a friendly dinner brought from home or purchased on site.

Recent editions have often adopted a theme: the 2024 edition was placed under the sign of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The improvised stage on the Place du Marché hosts musical entertainment throughout the evening to liven up this large neighborhood meal.

Fête de la Musique in Chaville

Every June 21st, Chaville celebrates the Fête de la Musique with a program of free concerts in the Mairie gardens and on the stage of the MJC de la Vallée. A dozen amateur bands perform throughout the day and evening, covering all musical styles—rock, folk, jazz, French chanson, world music. The Mairie gardens, with their intimate atmosphere, offer an ideal setting for this musical celebration that brings together all generations.

National Day and fireworks

The National Day on July 14th is celebrated in Chaville with a fireworks display organized in collaboration with the town of Vélizy-Villacoublay. The fireworks are launched over the Étang de l'Ursine, on the border between the two towns, at 11 p.m. This nighttime spectacle, visible from many points in the town, is one of the most anticipated events of the summer.
