Free concerts in gardens, squares, and at the conservatory
Every year around June 21st, the City of Champigny-sur-Marne celebrates the Fête de la Musique, highlighting the cultural richness of the commune, one of the most cosmopolitan in Val-de-Marne. The municipality organizes a flagship event: the World Cuisines & Music Festival, which combines international gastronomy and concerts in the city center.
Launched in 2024, the World Cuisines & Music Festival has become the unmissable event of Champigny's Fête de la Musique. It traditionally takes place on the Saturday closest to June 21st in Place du Marché, in the city center. Throughout the afternoon and evening, local cultural associations — Malian (ABKF), Franco-Tamil, Polish (ACLFP94), Vietnamese, Turkish, Kabyle (Timlilit), Portuguese (APSCR) communities and others — offer dances, songs, and culinary specialties from their countries of origin.
In the evening, local amateur groups take over with a varied repertoire (pop, folk, blues, jazz, French songs), before a live DJ accompanied by a singer extends the celebration late into the night.
The municipal Olivier-Messiaen Conservatory, the city's main artistic education institution (music, dance, theater), regularly participates in June's musical celebrations with student and ensemble concerts open to the public. Other Champigny venues like the café-concert Au Belvédère (avenue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, in the Cœuilly district) also host concerts for the Fête de la Musique.
Champigny-sur-Marne is a commune in Val-de-Marne (94) located on the banks of the Marne, known for its industrial heritage, its historic guinguettes, and the diversity of its population. The Fête de la Musique is an opportunity to celebrate this diversity through world rhythms, in a family-friendly and festive atmosphere. Well served by RER A (Champigny station) and several RATP/Île-de-France Mobilités bus lines, the city is easily accessible from Paris and throughout Val-de-Marne.
For the Fête de la Musique 2026, Champigny-sur-Marne is organizing the 3rd edition of the World Cuisines & Music Festival, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 3 PM to 1 AM, at Place du Marché. A festive and free day celebrating the city's cultural diversity through world music, dances, and gastronomy.
