The 6th edition of the Pégazz Festival takes place from September 20 to October 4, 2026, in Fontenay-sous-Bois, featuring nine events across four city venues. The program includes a free afternoon of improvisations at La Fonderie for Heritage Days, a concert by the conservatory wind band, five concerts at the Espace culturel Gérard Philipe on October 2 and 3, and a closing day at the Théâtre Jean-François Voguet with the "Méli-Méliès!" cine-concert and the Schwab-Soro Symphonic.
2026 Edition — September 20 to October 4
The Pégazz & l'Hélicon collective is organizing its sixth edition in partnership with the City of Fontenay-sous-Bois and Culture Commune. Concerts, premieres, masterclasses, and a cine-concert are spread over four days at La Fonderie, Salle Jacques Brel, the Espace culturel Gérard Philipe, and the Théâtre Jean-François Voguet.
Three premieres and two album releases
Ellinoa premieres "Eurydice" on October 2 following a residency, featuring a quintet of vocals, cello, double bass, and two guitars. On October 3, Grégoire Letouvet premieres Raw Material with the ensemble 2e2m: an acoustic orchestra of nine musicians combining santur, saz, bandoneon, flute, and orchestral instruments. On October 4, the "Méli-Méliès!" cine-concert is also a 2026 creation, co-produced with the Théâtre Jean-François Voguet.
Two albums are being released during the festival: "Maze in Köln", the fifth album by the Nefertiti Quartet recorded live at the LOFT club in Cologne, and the Schwab-Soro duo's album in a symphonic version with the Ondes Plurielles orchestra.

Contemporary jazz in Fontenay-sous-Bois
The Pégazz Festival was launched in 2020 by the Pégazz & l'Hélicon collective, a group of jazz and improvised music artists from the Île-de-France region based at 17 rue André Laurent, Fontenay-sous-Bois (94). The collective acts as a laboratory for improvised music; its artistic direction is led by Paul Jarret, Julien Soro, Delphine Deau, Grégoire Letouvet, Raphaël Schwab, and Marc Benham. The festival is organized in partnership with the City of Fontenay-sous-Bois.
Four venues, multiple disciplines
Each edition blends improvised music, visual arts, cinema, and music education. Concerts are held at La Fonderie (23 rue de Neuilly), Espace culturel Gérard Philipe (26 rue Gérard Philipe), Théâtre Jean-François Voguet (18 allée Maxime Gorki), and the salle Jacques Brel (164 boulevard Gallieni).
Some editions feature the Pégazz Loto-jazz, a concert where musicians are drawn by lot to form ensembles on the spot. It is on the bill for the 5th edition in 2025, alongside the duo Kamilya Jubran and Sarah Murcia, Tricératops, Paul Jarret with TILIA, and The Other Side Orchestra.
Transmission
The festival collaborates with students from the Conservatoire Guy Dinoird in Fontenay-sous-Bois and students from higher conservatories. Masterclasses conclude with a public concert: pianist Jozef Dumoulin in 2025, and singer-songwriter Ellinoa in 2026.
Free opening during the European Heritage Days
The festival kicks off during the European Heritage Days with a free afternoon at La Fonderie, the city's artistic creation hub, where musicians improvise amidst ongoing workshops and artworks. Paid concerts offer reduced rates, solidarity pricing, and free admission for children under 12 on most dates.
