2026 Edition — October 2 to 12
The Fête de la Science returns to Val-de-Marne from October 2 to 12, 2026, for its 36th national edition, focusing on the theme "Saveurs savantes": the links between science, cooking, taste, and nutrition.
The town of Ivry-sur-Seine is hosting the bulk of the currently confirmed program, centered around a village set up at the town hall and daily events in its libraries, retirement home, and the municipal cinema Le Luxy: cooking and fermentation workshops, a lecture by Christophe Lavelle, the Inserm exhibition "La science dans notre assiette" (until October 25), and science-cinema screenings. Other institutions in the department are participating: the IUT de Créteil-Vitry (tasting workshops in Créteil and Vitry-sur-Seine), the EPF engineering school on its Cachan campus, and the Orly library.
The departmental program will be completed as institutions register through the start of the school year in September; it is being published gradually on the official website fetedelascience.fr.

- Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) with its laboratories open to the public
- The Henri-Mondor University Hospital Center and its medical research teams
- The Grandes Écoles and scientific training institutes in the department
- Innovative companies in the Val-de-Marne technology sector
Events offered
The Fête de la Science in Val-de-Marne offers a dense and varied program:

Science for all
The Fête de la Science in Val-de-Marne is resolutely focused on inclusivity. Formats adapted for very young children (from 3 years old), schoolchildren, and adults of all levels allow everyone to participate according to their desires and skills. Translations and specific mediation are offered for non-French-speaking audiences, who are very present in this multicultural department.
The national theme and its local adaptation
Each edition of the Fête de la Science is placed under a national theme that guides the proposals of scientific and cultural actors. In Val-de-Marne, this theme is adapted through the prism of local realities: urban environment, health, digital technology, and social innovation are particularly developed angles linked to the specificities of the departmental territory.
