Free concerts in the streets and parks of Thiais to celebrate summer
Every June 21st, the town of Thiais (94320) comes alive to the rhythm of Fête de la Musique, this national event established in 1982 which celebrates the summer solstice through the gift and sharing of music. The commune of Val-de-Marne, nestled between Orly and Choisy-le-Roi, sets up its stages in public spaces to offer its residents a musical day open to all.
Fête de la Musique in Thiais is distinguished by its desire to bring music closer to residents in their neighborhoods. Stages are set up in parks, squares, and in front of the town's cultural facilities. Amateur musicians and established artists perform side-by-side to offer an eclectic program:
The municipal music school of Thiais plays a central role in organizing Fête de la Musique. Its students, of all ages and levels, perform in public for the first time of the year or conclude their artistic season with this outdoor performance. It is an opportunity for families to discover the work accomplished throughout the school year.
Thiais is a town that regularly invests in the cultural life of its residents. Fête de la Musique is part of an annual cultural agenda that also includes exhibitions, shows, and community events. By hosting this national event, the town affirms its commitment to free and popular access to live music.
Beyond the concerts, Fête de la Musique in Thiais is above all a moment of conviviality where neighbors, friends, and families gather to enjoy the beginning of summer. Additional entertainment (refreshment stands, local association stalls) often accompanies the concerts to extend the festive atmosphere into the evening.
